Hot Tub Installation Made Simple

Whether you’ve bought a hot tub online, from a showroom, or second-hand, our experienced team can handle the installation from start to finish. We’ll help position the tub correctly, ensure access for servicing, connect everything safely and make sure your spa is ready to run. Most modern hot tubs are self-contained and only require a suitable level base and the correct electrical supply to get up and running.

If you’re unsure about site preparation, electrics, or the best place in your garden for your spa, we can also provide advice or a site visit beforehand. Our aim is simple: take the hassle out of installing your hot tub so you can relax and enjoy it with complete peace of mind.

What to Expect From Your Hot Tub Installation

Site Preparation

Your hot tub has been engineered for installation on any firm, level surface. While a concrete slab is best for long-term use, other solid foundations are acceptable. Options include pea gravel or crushed rock, railroad ties, or pre-cast stepping stones. As a homeowner, it is your responsibility to provide a suitable, level foundation for your spa, as most delivery crews are not equipped to level or prepare sites.

Keep in mind that placing the hot tub on grass or dirt may increase the amount of debris that is inadvertently brought into the spa water on users’ feet. It is important to note that structural damage resulting from incorrect placement on an inadequate foundation is not covered under the spa’s structural warranty.

Caution: If your hot tub is to be mounted below ground level, ensure that there is sufficient drainage for rainwater runoff and equipment access.

Outdoor Ground Level Installation

It’s critical that you have a solid foundation for support. We recommend placing patio stones or concrete slabs underneath, spaced evenly. The stones should be at least two inches thick and twelve inches square. Even with stones in place, the hot tub may settle and become unlevel over time and may require re-levelling.

Deck Installation

You must know the deck’s maximum load capacity to be certain your deck can support your hot tub. Consult a qualified building contractor or structural engineer.

Electrical Preparation

Most tubs do not come with wiring (unless they are a one pump plug and play type model) so a qualified electrician is needed to provide a suitable electrical supply taken from a dedicated RCD in your fuse board. 2 pump tubs require a 20 amp feed and 3 pump tubs will need a 32amp feed. Heating elements tend to be are rated at 3kW but it is recommended you check with the manufacturer.  Download the full requirements below

Access and Delivery

A spa can be delivered either flat or in a vertical position on a delivery cart, provided there is sufficient clearance and a firm surface to roll the cart on. Please contact us to confirm the height and width required with the delivery cart so you can check whether the spa will fit through the intended delivery route.

The spa must remain on the delivery cart during delivery, so it may sometimes be necessary to remove a gate or partially dismantle a fence to create a clear passage.

If the spa needs to go over a wall or the access route is too narrow for the cart, a crane may be required. This is common practice and helps avoid damage to your property.

As we supply some of the deepest hot tubs available, width restrictions apply. A minimum access width of 40 inches (101cm) is required. Crane access can be arranged for more difficult installations, but this would be the customer’s responsibility.
